R.J. Blasting is a drilling and blasting contractor based in Ayrshire. Operating a fleet of 20+ Epiroc/Atlas Copco Drill rigs and also a fleet of 10 Custom designed and built Bulk Emulsion Pump trucks. We are based mainly in Scotland and northern England however we have recently ventured further afield giving us a presence all over the UK.

OUR HISTORY

      Founded in 1985 Employing 6 people - Now Employing 50.

1985-The company was founded by Eric Roy Jackson (RJ) and built a reputation for providing a prompt, reliable service in the opencast coal sector.

2002-Andy Canavan joined the company bringing 30 years of drilling and blasting experience working with Ritchies, Albion Drilling, Rocklift and Costain International assisting with the management of the company.

2006-R.J. Blasting was purchased by Andy and fellow director Ian Macdonald who had previously been general manager of Rocklift and Glensanda Super Quarry. The determination of both directors was to build the company to be the first choice in drilling and blasting.

2006-The company strikes deal with Explosives Developments Ltd to operate and run bulk emulsion pump trucks.

2018-Ian Macdonald retired from R.J. Blasting this year after 12 years partnership with Andy.

Present-We are steadily increasing our presence in the Quarrying sector as the company continues to grow. We now have a presence all over the UK with a fleet of 20+ drill rigs and 10 pump trucks and are now a major explosives supplier.
